How's this article I wrote for our month planner in March 2006!!!
Re-discovered it this morning looking for some notes.
How faithful is our Dad!!!!
We forget, He never does.

Praying for Rain:

 

Whilst driving the other day and thinking about the season we have been in and are still in, I thought of the words to describe it, being "Praying for rain".  I have then noticed that in our latest gatherings prayers & statement mentioning / asking for rain have become quite common.

 

I feel God wants us to enter a season of concerted, focused "praying for rain", the rain of His Holy Spirit, asking God to pour out His Spirit on and over us.  Why? 
a.) Because we need all He has for us if we are going to see the vision, plans, hopes we have in Him materialise.
b.) Because it will keep us free of our own agendas, preferences, histories & prejudices.  These "dry us out" instead of refreshing and energising us to the point where we find delight in serving God and His community.
c.) It will keep us in His perfect will, which is where we want to be anyway!
D.) It will also help us keep focused in our "life issues" and prevent us slipping into mediocrity and slothfulness – enemies hindering the advance of the Kingdom of God in our lives and consequently in out communities.

 

I have been and am continuing to ask God for greater manifestations of His power in our lives and in our gatherings.

 

I am "Praying for Rain" and ask you to join with me, praying in expectation and confidence because we know that we are praying in accordance with His will and those prayers He hears and answers.

 

I have not doubt!!!
